360training.com of Austin, Texas, on Tuesday announced the
availability of an online alcohol sales and service certification
program, Learn2Serve, for Arkansas alcohol permit holders.
The Arkansas Alcoholic Beverage Control Board Administration
approved the three-hour course as a voluntary certification program
that it says provides defensive efforts against alcohol service
claims and mitigates administrative penalties for business owners
and their employees.
Aside from defense against potential liability claims, alcohol
permit holders who complete the Learn2Serve program may also qualify
for reductions in their liquor liability insurance premiums since
the program is recognized by a number of liquor liability
underwriters.
Arkansas is one of 42 “dram shop states” in which an
establishment and its employees who sell alcohol to an obviously
intoxicated person or minor can be held liable for any property
damage or personal injury resulting from an alcohol-related
incident.
Learn2Serve helps the staffs of alcohol permit holders balance
their legal obligations with customers by providing strategies to
tackle real-world scenarios. Topics are delivered through audio,
multimedia, interactive role-play and testing to address issues such
as spotting fake identification, underage minors and intervention
techniques for the intoxicated.
The course is recognized in more than 40 states. The course costs
$25 per employee.
