About this Course

Complete your Alabama pre-license educational requirements with this AREC-approved course. The 60-hour Alabama Pre-license Fundamentals course provides the instruction in basic principles of real estate required of all those seeking a salesperson license in Alabama.

You'll begin by learning about different types of real estate careers and activities, as well as the government agencies that regulate the industry. Then we'll move on to critical concepts in forms of ownership and property rights and restrictions. You'll be introduced to the math formulas and calculations that are used in real estate for financing and property description.

We'll dive into legal matters related to real estate: agency relationships, contract law, property transfers, environmental issues, and more. We'll end your general education with an exploration of loans, the loan process, and other financing issues.

Finally, you'll examine Alabama-specific laws and regulations in areas like how to secure and maintain a license, the duties of the Alabama Real Estate Commission, the laws that regulate licensee conduct, and the consequences for violating them.

After you've finished your required instructional hours, you’ll schedule a proctored final exam. AREC requires your pre-licensing final to be proctored – in other words, supervised to make sure there's no cheating.

You need a grade of 70% or higher to pass the course.  Once we receive your passing grade and paperwork, you'll be able to print or save a certificate of completion for your records. We'll also report your credits to AREC within 3 days.

From the date of your pre-license course completion, you'll have 6 months to pass your state licensing exam.
