Description

It is important that you understand how to apply knowledge from your course work to real-world scenarios. Understanding how to properly apply your knowledge will enable you to carry out successful and safe operations. Safety is the top priority during any operation. The table-top scenarios provided throughout this course will help you develop safe practices in carrying out emergency and restoration operations. The table-top exercises use a simulated AGC system to introduce various system events to create an emergency response situation similar to those that occur in actual workplaces.

Course Objectives

"Terminal Objective: The trainee shall demonstrate ability to mitigate loss of AGC Frequency input to a BA AGC system. BAL-001, BAL-003, BAL-005
- Enabling Objective: The trainee shall demonstrate understanding of AGC modes (TLB, CF/FF, CT/FT).
- Enabling Objective: The trainee shall demonstrate understanding of effect encountered upon loss of frequency source upon control.
- Enabling Objective: The trainee shall explain how frequency bias impacts AGC in NERC ACE algorithm.

Terminal Objective: The trainee shall demonstrate ability to mitigate loss of dynamic schedule in AGC control scheme.
- Enabling Objective: The trainee shall demonstrate knowledge of how dynamic transfer impacts associated BA areas.
- Enabling Objective: The trainee shall make any corrective action necessitated by cited occurrence.
