This course is made for non–certified operators in preparation for the exam. Topics include a three–part review on system operations and a NERC Certification exam preparation that counts as both completion exam and eight (8) CE hours.

The NERC Certification Exam Preparation consists of four modules:

  • Module 1: Power Generation, Transmission and Interchange
  • Module 2: System Protection and Control
  • Module 3: System operations and PSR
  • Module 4: Practice Exam (counts as completion exam and CEH)

Certified operators may also avail of this course as a refresher of NERC standards as this includes courses with CE credit hours:

  • System Operations Review Part I (6 credit hours)
  • System Operations Review Part II (4 credit hours)
  • System Operations Review Part III (2 credit hours)
  • NERC Certification Exam Preparation (8 credit hours)

    Balancing and Interchange


    This course consists of four modules:

    Module 1: Power Generation, Transmission, and Interchange
    Module 2: System Protection and Control
    Module 3: System Operations and PSR

    At the completion of each of the first three modules there will be a quiz. The goal is to help you prepare to take one of the four types of NERC certification exams.

    • Balancing and Interchange
    • Transmission Operator

    The package also includes balancing and interchange exam; this Final Exam consists of 100 questions. You must complete the exam in the maximum time of 3 hours. Please select the most correct answer from the multiple choices provided. A passing score will be determined by the type of exam you are taking and your score resulting from that exam. If you do not receive a passing score the first time, we suggest you re-take the entire module; but at your choice after studying, you may elect just to re-take the practice exam. The exam you re-take must be the same exam you have specified initially.
