About this Package

The New Jersey Real Estate Commission (NJ REC) requires brokers, broker-salespersons, and salespersons to complete 12 hours of continuing education by April 30th of every odd-numbered year.

Those CE hours have to include:

  • Fair Housing & NJ Law Against Discrimination* – 1 hour
  • Ethics*– 2 hours
  • Core* – 3 hours
  • Electives* – 6 hours

Electives may include any combination of the following four CE types: Electives, Ethics, Fair Housing, or Core state-approved courses.

This package has everything you need to meet the NJ REC requirements. After you pass each class, we'll report your credits through the preferred vendor. The Commission also recommends that you save the available certificates of completion for your records.

Please note, it can take up to 10 days for CE credits to reach NJ REC, some of which is entirely out of our control. To avoid a late fine, you should plan to finish your continuing education well ahead of the April 30th deadline.

FAQs

How do I know you're a NJ REC-approved course provider?

You can find us on the list of continuing education providers through NJ REC's online portal.

If I'm a new agent, do I need Continuing Education?

Anyone who earns their salesperson license within the FIRST year of a renewal cycle is responsible for meeting the CE requirements before renewal. To clarify, that's before July 1st of an even-numbered year.

If you earn your salesperson license in the 12 months prior to renewal, you don't need CE until the next renewal cycle.

What is the deadline for completing my continuing education courses?

All New Jersey licensees have the same deadline for continuing education: April 30th of every odd-numbered year (2021, 2023, 2025, etc).

If you're late, you'll have to pay a fine. According to the NJ REC, it's your responsibility to account for the 10-day reporting delay.

Renewal applications are due a couple months later, by June 30th.
