The Commission requires 40 hours of pre-licensing coursework from an approved provider.

You need to be at least 18 years old in order to be eligible for a real estate salesperson license in Vermont.
What Else Do I Need to Do to Earn My Vermont Real Estate License?
Aside from educational requirements, you need to:

What is the Vermont Real Estate Licensing Exam Like?
Vermont's real estate license exam is administered by a third-party testing company named PSI at a number of testing sites throughout the state. It consists of 100 national questions and 36 Vermont-specific questions. You'll have a total of 4 hours to complete the whole exam.
You'll get a score report before you leave the testing center. If you only pass one portion, you'll have one chance to retake the failed portion within the next 6 months. Vermont allows 2.5 hours for the national portion only and 1.5 hours for the state portion only.
After you've failed a second time or 6 months have passed, you'll need to retake the whole test.
What Are the Real Estate Post-Licensing Requirements in Vermont?
You need 8 hours of Commission-approved post-licensing education within 90 days of initially receiving your Vermont salesperson license.
Post-licensing does NOT exempt you from meeting the required Continuing Education before your renewal.
How Often Does a Vermont Real Estate License Have to Be Renewed?
Vermont real estate licenses need to be renewed every other year – specifically, by May 31st of even-numbered years for Salespersons.
What Are Vermont's Continuing Education Requirements for Real Estate?
Vermont requires salespersons to complete 16 Continuing Education hours from an approved provider every 2 years by your renewal date. Brokers must complete 24 hours of CE.
At least 4 hours of CE need to address legislation and other required topics. The Commission dictates the curriculum for each 2-year period – check their website for the current requirements.
