Complete Your 180-Hour Texas Pre-License Courses Online

Before you apply for your Texas real estate license, the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) requires 180 hours of essential real estate education with an approved online real estate school.

Let's face it, commuting to a classroom isn't how you want to spend your precious time. That's why our Texas pre-license courses are delivered entirely online. You can finish them at your own pace, on your own schedule.

Pass Your Proctored Course Final Exams (From Home!)

For each course, you'll need to take a proctored final exam. TREC requires pre-license finals to be overseen by a third party. Typically, this involves an in-person test in front of an eligible proctor. You can take your exams this way if you prefer.

When you purchase our Premium Package, it will include 100% online and on-demand TREC-approved recorded proctoring service for each of your final exams. If you purchase our Basic Package, for an additional fee, you will be able to add our online proctoring service to your order at checkout. This allows you to take your pre-licensing finals anywhere, as long as you have a camera, microphone, and internet connection.

Once you've passed each final, you'll get your certificate of completion. You'll attach all 6-course certificates to your license application as proof of training.

How Long Is the Texas Real Estate Exam?

Every candidate taking the Texas real estate license exam  has a total of 240 minutes, or 4 hours, to complete the exam, which includes both the State and National portions. The exam is administered at testing locations throughout the state, and upon its completion, candidates will leave the testing center with their official score report.

How Many Attempts Do I Have to Pass the Texas Real Estate Licensing Exam?

TREC allows candidates a maximum of three attempts to successfully pass both the national and state law sections of the exam. However, you'll have to pay an exam fee for each attempt.

If you fail one section of the exam, you are only required to retake the section you did not pass.

In the event of failing one section of the exam three times, an extra 30 hours of qualifying real estate education is required. However, failing both sections of the exam three times requires an additional 60 hours of qualifying real estate education.

In other words, you want to get it right the first time.

We can help there, too! Our exam prep course addresses the same national and state-specific topics that you'll find on the official exam. We'll help you practice so you can walk into the state licensing exam with self-assurance and walk out with a passing score.

FAQs

How Do I Know if 360training Is a TREC-approved Course Provider?

360training's approved TREC Provider Number is 4591.

How Fast Can I Get Through the Classes?

You need to spend at least as much time in each course as the credit hours it's worth, but you can’t spend more than 12 hours per day in the coursework.

TREC bases their reinforcement of this rule on how many days you spend in each course and whether there is overlap between courses.  In other words, you can't start and complete a 30-hour qualifying course in less than 3 days. You also can't start and complete more than one qualifying course within the same 3 days.

TREC will not accept your certificate of completion for anyone course unless 3 days have elapsed since the date/time you started it.

Who is Eligible to Apply for a Texas Real Estate License?

To get licensed in Texas, you need to be a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted alien, a Texas resident, and 18 years of age or older.

You also need to meet TREC's qualifications for honesty, trustworthiness, and integrity. If you have any flaws in your criminal, civil, or professional record, you should request a Fitness Determination with TREC before you go through the expense of a licensing application.

How Do I Get My Texas Real Estate License?

To earn your Texas real estate license, you need to:

  1. Pass the required courses with a TREC-approved course provider (like us!)
  2. Complete your "inactive" licensing application with TREC, online or by mail.
  3. Get fingerprinted by the Texas Department of Public Safety and pass the background check.
  4. Pass the official licensing exam.
  5. Find a sponsoring broker to upgrade your license to an "active" one.

Most of these steps require a fee. You can find them listed on TREC's website.

You need to complete all steps within a year of your application start date.
