Complete South Dakota Continuing Education Coursework Online
The South Dakota Real Estate Commission (SD REC) requires real estate professionals to renew their licenses every 2 years with 24 hours of continuing education.
We're an SD REC-approved CE provider whose courses are delivered entirely online for your convenience. Take them at your own pace and on your own schedule.
Meet Real Estate CE Requirements with Courses that Interest You
SD REC's continuing education requirements include:
- 12 hours on mandatory topics, including:
- Real Estate Contracts
- Real Estate License Law
- Fair Housing
- Americans with Disabilities Act
- Ethics
- Environmental Issues
- Antitrust
- Brokerage Services
- 12 hours of approved electives
For your convenience, we have two different packages that meet all the requirements to renew your license. If those sets of courses don't interest you, you can build your own CE around your interests by picking our SD REC-approved courses a la carte.
Get Your Credits On Time
Once you complete each CE course, you'll get a certificate of completion for your records. We'll also report your credits to SD REC within 10 days of completion.

FAQs
How do I know you're an SD REC-approved course provider?
You can find us on SD REC's website under approved internet-based CE providers. Our courses are listed under our parent company, 360training.
What are my continuing education requirements if I'm a new Broker Associate?
For your first TWO renewals as a South Dakota Broker Associate, you owe post-license coursework instead of continuing education. Unfortunately, we don't offer this curriculum. You can find someone who does on SD REC's website.
What is the deadline for completing my continuing education courses?
SD REC has to receive proof of CE by December 31st of your renewal year, a month after your renewal application is due. If your course credits are late, your license will be placed in active status on January 1st and you won't be able to perform licensed activities until it's reactivated.
Keep in mind that course providers have up to 10 days to report your credits – to ensure you meet SD REC's deadline and avoid any interruptions to work, you should plan to finish your courses by mid-December at the latest.
