Meet Real Estate CE Requirements with Courses that Interest You
For established licensees (second and subsequent renewals), UT-DRE requires the CE to include:
- 9 hours of Core Topic courses
- 3 hours must fulfill the new Mandatory Course requirement
- 9 hours may be approved elective courses
For new Real Estate Agents, the CE has to include:
- A 12-hour New Agent Course (which counts towards your Core Topic hours)
- The 3-hour Mandatory Course
- 3 hours of CE that can either be Core or Elective topics
Get Your Credits On Time
All CE must be finished by the 15th day of the renewal month to ensure an on-time renewal. We'll report your credits to UT-DRE promptly, and you'll get a certificate of completion for your records.

FAQs
How do I know you're a UT-DRE-approved course provider?
You can find us as an approved provider on UT-DRE's website. Our license number is 7617965-CEP0.
How fast can I get through Continuing Education courses?
UT-DRE doesn't allow credit for more than 8 hours in a 24-hour period, so your 18 hours of CE has to be completed over the course of at least 3 days.
What is the deadline for completing my continuing education courses?
UT-DRE says you need to complete your CE by no later than the 15th day of your renewal month in order to get your credits on time.
You can find your expiration date on your license or by checking the DRE's licensee database.
Note, if your license is inactive, you do NOT need CE unless your renewal application is late.
What else is required for your license renewal?
Aside from meeting all continuing education requirements, you need to:
- Complete RAP Back fingerprinting and consent to a background check.
- Log into Utah's Real Estate License Management System (RELMS) and renew your license, including fee payment.
The renewal application will become available 45 days before your expiration.
What happens if I'm late renewing my license?
Utah doesn't offer a grace period, so once your license expires, you can't perform licensed activities until it's renewed or reinstated.
For the first 30 days after expiration, you can renew online with a late fee.
After 30 days, but before 6 months are up, you have to renew online with at least 24 hours of CE courses, including 9 core hours. You'll have to pay larger fees for reinstatement.
After 6 months but within a year of your license expiration, you need 42 hours of continuing education to renew, in addition to the same reinstatement fees above.
After your license has been expired for more than a year, you would have to reapply for your real estate license as a new applicant.
