We cut out the commute to a classroom by delivering Virginia CE courses online. You can finish them at your own pace, whenever you have the time.
Meet Virginia Real Estate CE Requirements
Effective July 1, 2024, the Virginia Real Estate Board (VREB) updated its continuing education requirements for salespersons. The total number of required hours remains 16, but the breakdown between mandatory and elective topics depends on your license expiration date.
For licenses that expire before June 30, 2026, you must take:
- 3 hours in Ethics & Standards of Conduct
- 2 hours in Fair Housing
- 1 hour in Legal Updates and Emerging Trends (with flood instruction)
- 1 hour in Real Estate Contracts
- 1 hour in Real Estate Agency
- 8 approved elective hours
For licenses that expire on or after June 30, 2026, you must take:
- 3 hours in Ethics & Standards of Conduct
- 2 hours in Fair Housing
- 2 hours in Legal Updates and Emerging Trends (with flood instruction)
- 2 hours in Real Estate Contracts
- 2 hours in Real Estate Agency
- 5 approved elective hours
Please note: This CE package is designed to meet the latest VREB requirements and fully satisfies the 16-hour renewal requirement for licenses expiring both before and on or after June 30, 2026. It includes coursework that meets both the previous and updated guidelines.

FAQs
How do I know you're a VREB-approved course provider?
360training's VREB Certification Number is 0211000317.
What is the deadline for completing my continuing education courses?
Your license is due for renewal every 2 years in Virginia. The deadline is the last day of the month in which you were initially licensed.
For example, if your license is first issued on April 5th, your renewal deadlines will be every other April 30th.
Proof of CE, as well as your application, has to be RECEIVED (not postmarked) by the deadline in order to be "on time." It's important to complete your renewal on time because you can't practice after the expiration if you don't.
The earliest you can start the renewal process is 60 days before your license expires.
Can I roll extra CE hours over into my next renewal period?
VREB does allow you to roll over CE hours now under specific circumstances. If you complete all requirements in one renewal period, any courses you take in the last six months of the current renewal period can count towards the next renewal. You can learn more on VREB's website.
