4 Major Updates of the General Industry Standards for Fall Protection

Fall-related hazards are some of the leading causes of accidents and injuries in general industry settings. To improve worker protection, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) updated its Walking-Working Surfaces and Personal Protective Equipment (Fall Protection Systems) standards. The final rule, which is estimated to prevent 5,842 lost-workday injuries each year, became effective last January 17, 2017.
