About this Course
This course begins with an overview on cannabis establishments and what they are, followed by a discussion of the general laws and rules regarding cannabis. Training and information on state-specific and business-specific practices are the responsibility of individual licensed employers. Rules vary widely from state-to-state. While we have provided a very brief summary of cannabis's legal status in each of the states, the regulating board, and some notes, you need to use the links provided for each state to fully educate yourself on the specifics of your state. Similarly, while the third lesson in this course discusses some basics of retail cannabis site safety, there are a number of state specific and local rules you will need to be aware of and follow.
After we review the basic laws and rules governing the medical and retail cannabis industry, we discuss who can and cannot lawfully purchase cannabis. This is followed by a lesson on validating identification and preventing underage sale of cannabis products.
Next, we will learn about the different types of cannabis products currently available and how cannabis can affect people in positive and negative ways. We will give you suggestions for how to avoid customers overconsuming cannabis and experiencing negative effects. This is followed by a discussion of how to identify someone who is impaired by cannabis and what to do if the situation is unlawful. The course explores tips, techniques, and methods to identify at risk cannabis consumers who are clearly impaired, and it is extremely important for the safety of all that you know how to properly deal with these customers.
After you have completed all seven lessons, there will be an end-of-course test with 45 (40 graded and 5 ungraded) questions.
Note that there is a different regulating body in every state that governs the cannabis industry, but 360Training has produced this course as an independent guide for cannabis handlers, with a particular emphasis on individuals working in customer-facing roles as cannabis handlers or budtenders.
