About This Course
Unlock the knowledge to become a true advocate for fair housing with our comprehensive course on federal fair housing practices in the United States. Dive into engaging, interactive exercises that will not only expand your understanding of protected classes and civil rights in housing and property ownership but also equip you to recognize and combat various forms of discrimination.
This course goes beyond the basics, introducing you to critical concepts like “adverse disparate impact” and helping you identify subtle forms of hidden discrimination that might seem neutral on the surface but have discriminatory effects. Gain the confidence and vocabulary needed to challenge these issues head-on.
Discover the significant barriers that protected classes face and the unique discrimination challenges encountered by different groups. As a professional in an industry with a complex history of inequality, you have the power to drive change. This course will empower you to advocate for inclusive and equitable policies within your real estate brokerage.
For Michigan Students:
Effective February 13, 2024, all real estate professionals must complete one hour of Fair Housing training each year of their license cycle.
For those renewing within the first year of this law's effective date, the Department will consider the shortened compliance window if you are selected for a Continuing Education Audit. For renewals occurring more than one year after the law's effective date (after February 13, 2025), the Department expects at least one hour of Fair Housing training for each license cycle year since the law was enacted, though it will exercise discretion during audits.
