What is Food Pick-up and Delivery Safety Training?
Takeout, pickup, and delivery options have become increasingly popular for restaurants and grocery stores in recent months. Training plans have historically focused on food safety from a storage and preparation point of view. COVID-19 has rendered these training plans largely insufficient for meeting the needs for a lack of depth in covering how food gets home with the consumer.
What Will This Course Teach Me?
This course is designed for consumers to learn about the various methods, protocols and practices that businesses are implementing to ensure a safe environment for everyone. This course will provide awareness training on various safety precautions and their ability to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus. It will review the impact to the food industry along with steps we can take to ensure our safety and the safety of others during food pickup and delivery.
The course starts out with educational material for recognizing the symptoms of the coronavirus while reviewing the safety precautions that can limit further outbreaks. It will review common services and procedures and the precautions that should be taken to protect both employees and consumers.

About HASSA
Formed in response to COVID-19, Health And Sanitation Safety Awareness (HASSA) is an alliance on procedures, protocols, and best practices for preventing the spread of viruses and diseases.
The coronavirus pandemic revealed insufficiencies in grocery, dining, and delivery business response plans, leading to instability in both consumer confidence and supply chains. HASSA is a structure training curriculum that helps, businesses, employees, and consumers evaluate and proactively manage that the proper precautions are being taken to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus in various environments.
