Are you ready to become a Certified Food Protection Manager? Then, sign up today to take your exam!  

As soon as you pass the exam with at least 72%, you can print your official Learn2Serve Food Protection Manager Certification Program Certificate directly from your account. You have two options for taking the exam. You can take the exam from home using one of our online proctors, or you can choose to take your exam at a PSI testing center.

This accredited exam is accepted in most states that have mandatory certification requirements for Food Management Professionals. Various state and local governmental jurisdictions require food safety training and certification for managers of establishments that handle food. This exam is designed to test and assess food managers on competencies relevant to food protection. The intent of this examination is to certify that each food manager has demonstrated by means of a food safety certification examination to a certifying organization that he or she has the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to protect the public from foodborne illness.

Remember to check with your state and local government to see if you need to register or pay any additional fees.

Online Proctor vs. Testing Center

Online Proctor

The Food Protection Manager Certification Exam is ANSI-approved for remote protecting online using the webcam on the computer. The exam will be proctored by one of our online proctors. All students will be allowed a total of two exam attempts with no additional fee.
Should you fail after your second attempt, you will need to wait 90 days before attempting the exam again.

Our online proctoring is available Monday – Friday between 7 AM to 10 PM (CST). To access your exam, simply launch the course in the 360training LMS (Learning Management System) and follow the detailed instructions, click here.

Testing Center

The exam is proctored by a third-party, at a PSI testing center. Once you enroll and enter your contact information, we will send your registration to PSI. 24 hours later, you’ll receive a link to schedule a date and time to take your exam in person.

On the day of the exam, you’ll log back into your course at the PSI Test Center and complete the exam on their provided computer/equipment. The Exam ensures you have the knowledge and skills to protect the public from foodborne illnesses.

All students will only have one attempt to take the Food Manager Exam at a PSI testing center.
If you fail your first exam attempt, please contact our support team at 877-881-2235 to schedule and pay for your 2nd attempt.
The exam fee and proctoring fee will be collected by credit card at the time of your call and also at that time, our support team will request the 2nd PSI appointment to be scheduled on your behalf.
 
Should you fail your second attempt, you will need to wait the full 90 days before attempting the exam again.

FAQs

What happens if I fail the Certified Food Manager exam? 

If you do not pass your first attempt, you will have one attempt remaining. If you’d like to make your second attempt immediately you can, just click “Begin Exam”. If you exit your second attempt before you finish the exam, it will void your attempt, so make sure you have enough time to complete it.

If you’d like to make your second attempt later, click “Save and Exit”.

If you fail the exam the second time, you must re-purchase the exam. Also, you will need to wait 90 days before you can re-take the test.

Who should get their Food Manager Certification? 

The Food Manager Certification was created to ensure that experienced professionals in the food service industry understand how to keep customers and employees safe from foodborne illnesses.  

So, if you currently work as a restaurant manager, produce manager, or convenience store manager, you should consider getting certified. Additionally, most states require an owner or designated person in charge on duty at a food service establishment to be a Certified Food Protection Manager. 

Unless your state or county/city has specific requirements, you don’t need to take any additional courses or meet any training requirements. However, if you want to prepare for the first time or need a refresher, we have a Food Manager Safety Principles course that you can take. 

What can I do if I lose my Food Manager Certificate?

When does my course expire? 

Your course will expire one (1) year after you purchase it (the date you submit payment), unless the course itself indicates otherwise.

What if I need a refund? 

If for some reason you are not happy and would like a refund, send us a request within 72 hours of purchase. Here are the eligibility requirements you must meet: 

  • Your purchase was made no more than 72 hours prior to your refund request. 
  • You have NOT: 
    • Attempted any portion of a test or exam. 
    • Requested or been issued a certificate of completion. 
    • Completed 50% or more of the purchased course. 

If you meet all of these criteria, submit your refund request in writing via email to support@360training.com with a proof-of-purchase receipt and an explanation for why you are requesting a refund.
