About this Course
If you're taking your food manager exam for the first time or want to refresh your knowledge on food safety best practices, this is the ideal course for you. Our Food Safety Manager Principles training covers everything you need to know to maintain the highest food safety standards.
You’ll learn about challenges in food safety, including biohazards, foodborne disease, food spoilage, and contaminants, but you’ll also learn techniques that will ensure your customers are safe from foodborne illness.
You’ll discover why temperature control is critical for food safety, as well as the importance of employee health and hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing, and pest control. We’ll talk about best practices for purchasing, receiving, and storing food. We’ll also discuss the role of facility design in food safety.
We’ll show you how to put all the pieces together with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), a systematic approach to food safety where you identify, evaluate, and control hazards.
Finally, we’ll cover regulatory compliance and the necessary documentation.
This training is accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) and the Conference of Food Protection (CFP) and approved for use in most jurisdictions.

Who Needs This Food Safety Manager Training?
If you oversee the handling, preparation or service of food in a facility, you can benefit from food manager training. This includes managers for everything from grocery and convenience stores to restaurants, cafeterias, and catering services.
Some states and local jurisdictions require food safety manager training for key supervisory personnel. Check out our state-by-state guide on food manager safety training to learn more. In some cases, jurisdictions require passing a Food Manager Certification exam that is not provided with this course. If you’re in one of these jurisdictions, you’ll need to purchase our National Food Manager Certification bundle, which includes both the course and the proctored exam.
What's Included in This Food Safety Manager Training?
This course includes 8 hours of training in the principles of food management safety. You’ll develop a better understanding of food safety and its importance, including the types of foodborne illness, potential causes, and measures you must take to make your food safe to serve. There will be a quiz at the end of each lesson as well as a final exam to help test your comprehension and recall.
However, this training does not include the food manager certification exam. If you’re looking for certification, you need to purchase our National Food Manager Certification bundle, which includes both the course and the proctored exam.
How Many Lessons Are in This Food Safety Manager Course?
This food safety manager course contains 12 lessons. The topics range from biohazards and contaminants to applying HACCP principles.

Your course will expire one (1) year after you purchase it (the date you submit payment), unless the course itself indicates otherwise.
