About This Course

An ice resurfacer, also known as an ice resurfacing machine or Zamboni (a common brand name), is a specialized vehicle used to maintain and resurface ice rinks, particularly in indoor ice-skating arenas and hockey rinks.

The primary purpose of an ice resurfacer is to smooth out the ice surface by removing ice shavings, filling in divots and cracks, and laying down a fresh layer of water that freezes into a smooth, level ice surface. Improper use or operation of an ice resurfacer can lead to accidents, such as collisions with obstacles, falls, or injuries from moving parts. Training helps operators identify and mitigate potential risks to prevent accidents and injuries.
