About This Course
The Oregon Real Estate Board recognizes the need for professional real estate licensees to stay up to date with changes in the law and rules and requires a specific 3 hour continuing education class, known as the Law and Rules Required Course (LARRC) for real estate professionals.
- All real estate licensees must take and complete LARRC from a certified continuing education provider to meet the requirement to take a 3-hour continuing education course on recent changes in real estate rule and law found in ORS696.174.
- (Parts of this course are required topics and topics summarized in the last lesson of the course are optional and may vary among providers.)
Background
The State of Oregon has specific housing goals. They include a requirement that specifies that each city must plan for and accommodate needed housing types, such as multifamily and manufactured housing. It requires each city to inventory its buildable residential lands, project future needs for such lands, and plan and zone enough buildable land to meet those needs. It also prohibits local plans from discriminating against needed housing types.
The Oregon State Legislation meets at a designated time every year to discuss and review changes to existing laws and rules.
