MSHA Part 46 2-hour Surface Mining Refresher

MSHA Part 46 Certification is commonly used to describe the training compliance for surface miners as required by the Mine Safety and Health Administration. However, it’s important to note that there is no formal certification issued by MSHA. Instead, miners must complete the necessary training to understand safety regulations and procedures. This training is essential for ensuring a safe working environment in surface mining operations. 

This course includes comprehensive coverage of several fundamental topics, including health and safety standards, safe equipment usage, and emergency procedures. The MSHA Part 46 2-Hour Surface Mining Refresher course provides two hours of the required annual refresher training for miners. According to MSHA regulations, specifically 30 CFR 46.8, miners must complete a total of 8 hours of refresher training each year to remain compliant. While this course contributes to that requirement, it only partially fulfills the annual training obligation.  

To ensure MSHA compliance, your company must have an MSHA-approved training plan as outlined in 30 CFR §46.4. This course, along with any of our other training options, can be incorporated into that plan to help meet your 8-hour refresher training requirements.
