About This Course
Surface mining presents unique safety risks that workers need to understand and manage. The MSHA Surface Mining Hazards course is designed to educate miners and supervisors on recognizing potential hazards and implementing effective safety practices. This online course covers essential topics, including accident prevention, hazard identification, and emergency response procedures, helping workers stay safe and compliant in line with MSHA safety standards.
This training is ideal for surface mine operators, supervisors, safety personnel, and other workers who need a comprehensive understanding of the dangers involved in surface mining. Completing this course equips participants with the knowledge to reduce accidents and enhance workplace safety, contributing to a safer mining environment.
Every mining operation follows an MSHA-approved training plan, customized to meet its unique requirements and operational standards. This 2-hour online course can supplement a company’s MSHA-approved training plan, fulfilling part of the annual refresher requirement for 30 CFR 46.8, and providing miners and contractors with current safety training. While our courses are structured to support Part 46 annual refresher needs, the specific applicability may vary based on individual training plans. It is the responsibility of the mine site operator to ensure MSHA compliance and verify that all employees complete the training outlined in their approved plan.
