The Surface Mining PPE Safety course offers two hours of essential training, which contributes toward the annual refresher training required by MSHA under 30 CFR Part 46. Miners are required to complete 8 hours of refresher training annually. While this course helps fulfill that requirement, additional training may be needed to meet the full 8-hour obligation. Regular training keeps miners updated on best practices and safety standards.

How Long Can I Access My MSHA Surface Mining PPE Safety Course Materials?

Learners have 60 days from the date of enrollment to complete the course and final assessment. For online purchases, this starts on the date of purchase. During this time, they can log out and back in to return to where they left off in the course. The only exception is the final exam, which must be completed in a single sitting.

Be aware that there are two dates in the system: a due date and an expiration date. If an administrator purchases the course, they can assign a due date, which can be earlier than the expiration date.
