About This Course
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a critical component of safety in surface mining, where workers face various hazards. The Surface Mining PPE Safety course provides essential knowledge on selecting, using, and maintaining PPE to reduce risks and prevent accidents. This online course covers key topics, including types of PPE, proper fit and usage, maintenance practices, and compliance with MSHA standards, helping workers stay protected in hazardous environments.
This training is ideal for surface mine operators, supervisors, safety personnel, and all workers who need to understand the importance of PPE in mining. By completing this course, participants gain the skills necessary to ensure their own safety and that of their colleagues, contributing to a safer worksite.
Every mining operation follows an MSHA-approved training plan tailored to its unique requirements and operational standards. This 2-hour online course can be incorporated into a company’s MSHA-approved training plan to meet the annual refresher requirements for 30 CFR 46.8, providing miners and contractors with current safety training. While our courses are designed to support Part 46 annual refresher needs, their applicability may vary based on specific training plans. It is the responsibility of the mine site operator to ensure MSHA compliance and confirm that all employees receive the training outlined in their approved plan.
