FAQs
New York Pre-License Final Exam and Proctor Instructions
At the end of the 77-hour New York Real Estate Salesperson Pre-License course, students are required to pass the course final exam with a score of 70% or higher. NYSDOS requires the final course exam to be supervised (or "proctored") to maintain the integrity of the exam. Typically, that means scheduling an in-person test with a proctor at an approved proctor facility.
In addition to the above, NYSDOS requires all final exams to be taken with a proctor in the state of NY. There is no exception to this rule.
Students taking their course through 360training.com can schedule an appointment at our approved proctor facility by clicking here.
NOTE: The final exam is a closed book and must be passed in 2 attempts or less. Re-attempts will require rescheduling at the proctor facility (additional fee will be applicable).
Should you have any questions or require assistance in scheduling, please do not hesitate to contact our support team.
Who is eligible to apply for an New York real estate license?
To be eligible for a real estate license in New York, you need to be over 18 with no prior felony or sex offense convictions.
How do I apply after I pass my state licensing exam?
Once you pass, your state license exam score is good for up to two years. You need to submit your license application before it expires to avoid repeating the test.
Applications are online and available through New York's licensing portal. To complete the licensing process, you'll need to find a sponsoring broker. The broker will be responsible for your license and provide mentoring and certain resources, so it's an important choice.
When do my courses expire?
Your courses will expire one (1) year after you purchase them (the date you submit payment), unless the course itself indicates otherwise.
For more information about course expiration dates, please read our Terms of Use.
