About This Course
The New York Liquor Authority recommends that you complete an approved training program if you are selling or serving alcohol. Our course for off-premises establishments will ensure you satisfy these requirements.
This course provides the knowledge and techniques needed to be a responsible alcohol server. Specifically, you will learn how to protect yourself and your establishment from liability; how alcohol affects your customers; how to recognize the effects of alcohol in your customers; how to prevent customers from becoming intoxicated; how to intervene when you need to refuse a sale to a customer; how to prevent and handle disturbances; how to accurately check IDs and recognize underage individuals; how to avoid sales to intermediaries and how to refuse a sale.
After you finish the lessons, you must score at least 70% on the final exam to earn your certificate. Then, once you do, your certificate serves as proof you’ve completed an approved New York alcohol training awareness program.
