This course introduces the topics of quid pro quo sexual harassment and hostile environment. In this course, you will learn what quid pro quo sexual harassment is and how hostile environments are created. Next, this course introduces the concept of discrimination in the workplace. As you will learn, it is illegal to discriminate against employees and prospective employees in the workplace.
There are eight different types of discrimination, all of which you will learn about in this course. This course then introduces the Americans with Disabilities Act, which outlines the workplace rights of Americans with disabilities. - Identify and distinguish between the two different types of sexual harassment that may be present within the workplace and describe what constitutes sexual harassment behavior
- Recognize discriminatory behavior within the workplace and discuss the laws regulating sexual harassment and workplace discrimination
- Explain the company's policy on discrimination and harassment, describe the procedures for filing a complaint within the workplace, and test a company's sexual harassment policy and procedures
- Analyze the manager's role in detecting, dismantling, and preventing discrimination and harassment within the workplace, and summarize the process of a sexual harassment investigation and each person's professional role in the investigation
- Explain the cost of sexual harassment to individuals, teams, and organizations and relate to reasons why many people do not report sexual harassment
- Predict what steps to take in order to decrease the risk of sexual harassment and list the steps to take if harassment becomes an issue in the workplace
