About This Course
This NYC SST: 2-Hour Mental Health Awareness course helps construction workers understand how behavioral health, mental wellness, substance misuse, workplace impairment, opioid overdose awareness, tobacco and nicotine use, and suicide prevention relate to jobsite safety. Through realistic construction scenarios and interactive activities, you'll learn to recognize warning signs, understand common risk factors, and identify resources that support healthier, safer workplaces.
This prescribed course satisfies the 2-Hour Mental Health Awareness requirement within applicable New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) Site Safety Training (SST) pathways established under Local Law 10 of 2026, which replaced the previous 2-Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness course. Workers who currently hold an active SST card are not required to complete this course solely because of the Local Law 10 of 2026 update.
Upon successful completion of this course, you'll receive a certificate of completion and applicable SST training credit. This course does not issue a Site Safety Training (SST) card by itself.
If you're completing a full NYC SST training pathway, this course is also included in the following training packages:
- NYC SST: 40 Hour Site Safety Training for Workers
- NYC SST: 10 Hour Site Safety Training for Workers
- NYC SST: 62 Hour Complete Supervisor Safety Package
- NYC SST: 40 Hour Site Safety Training for New Entrants
- NYC SST: 32 Hour Supervisor Upgrade Package
Your required training depends on your role and job responsibilities. Check with your employer before enrolling to determine which NYC SST training requirements apply to your role and whether this standalone course or an SST training package best meets your needs.
