About this Course
What is Stand-up Forklift Training?
This course covers OSHA and ANSI standards for safely operating powered industrial trucks, also known as fork trucks, lift trucks or forklifts. Specifically, this course focuses on stand-up forklifts.
You'll learn about types of forklifts and the relevant regulations, including inspections and required records. Then we'll review forklift anatomy.
You'll discover all the potential hazards of working with or around a stand-up forklift, including battery hazards, stability issues, and the danger of being struck by a forklift or its falling load. We'll also discuss the particular dangers involved with elevating personnel, working on a dock platform, and performing maintenance.
Finally, we'll cover safety procedures for avoiding these hazards. You'll learn how to safely work around pedestrians, handle loads, park your equipment, and more.
Who should take Stand-up Forklift Training?
If you operate a stand-up forklift, this course is for you. We also recommend it for anyone who works around them, since they pose hazards to those nearby.
