When hand and power tools are not properly used or maintained, they present numerous threats to health and safety.
This course provides a basic introduction to the hazards of power and hand tools, as well as OSHA’s standards for the safe use. You'll learn about proper guarding techniques, personal protective equipment, and other safety requirements.
Once we've covered the basics, we'll also take a look at safety considerations for tools that create dangerous respirable silica dust.
This course fulfills 1 hour of general elective credit toward earning or renewing your Site Safety Training (SST) card.
Once you complete the lessons and pass the 10-question final exam with a score of at least 75%, you'll get a certificate of completion right away. You get 3 attempts to pass the final – we'll quiz you after each lesson to help you prepare.
Note, THIS IS AN AWARENESS-LEVEL TRAINING ONLY and does not provide any other qualification or authorization outside of the Site Safety Training Card.
