What Is Vermont Vendor Training?
Vermont Vendor Training is a mandatory compliance course for employees working in Vermont Cannabis Establishments. It teaches employees how to comply with state law while selling cannabis in a licensed facility and includes a basic introduction to cannabis, cannabis products, and consumption methods.
Is Vermont Vendor Training Mandatory?
Yes. The Vermont Cannabis Control Board (CCB) requires all cannabis establishments in the state to ensure all retail and general employees in the state complete vendor training on the required schedule. This includes retailers, all tiers of manufacturers, indoor cultivation facilities, outdoor cultivation facilities, mixed cultivation facilities, testing laboratories, and more.
Employees of cannabis establishments must complete all required employee training within 60 days of hiring, although customer-facing employees of retail establishments need to complete training on certain topics before they’re legally allowed to start selling cannabis to customers. All employees must repeat training at least annually after that.
Do I Need General Employee or Retail Training?
If you are a customer-facing employee of a retail Cannabis facility, you need to complete Retail Training at least once at the start of your employment to comply with Vermont state law.
As a Retail Employee, there are eight topics that you must complete before you are allowed to sell cannabis or cannabis products to consumers, and the remaining topics must be completed within 60 days of employment. Afterward, annual training refreshers are required.
All other types of employees at any kind of cannabis establishment (retail, manufacturing, cultivation, testing, etc) can take General Employee Training instead.
As a General Employee, you’ll need to complete the course for the first time within the first 60 days of employment, and then annually after that.
Is Your Responsible Vendor Training Course Approved in Vermont?
Yes, 360training is authorized by the Vermont Cannabis Control Board (CCB) to provide vendor training in the state.
