In the construction industry, working within confined spaces presents specific safety challenges.
More than a thousand workers died from confined space occupational injuries between 2011 and 2018. Confined space fatalities occur more in the construction industry than in any other industry. In fact, confined space hazards don't just endanger those working in them but also anyone attempting to assist or rescue them. More than 60% of confined space fatalities are would-be rescuers.
This course will provide a basic introduction to working in confined spaces, permit requirements, and related hazards. Understanding the risks is vital to ensuring you and your team remain safe.
After completing the lessons and passing the 45-question final exam with a score of at least 75%, you'll get a certificate of completion. You get three attempts to pass the final.
This is an AWARENESS-LEVEL training and does not provide any other qualification or authorization outside of the Site Safety Training Card.
This is an awareness-level orientation DOES NOT QUALIFY YOU TO ENTER OR WORK WITH CONFINED SPACES OR PERMIT-REQUIRED CONFINED SPACES. Before you enter a confined space, your employer must provide advanced training that includes the methods used to isolate, control, or in other ways protect employees from the associated hazards. Employees not authorized to perform entry rescues should be educated about the dangers of attempting such rescues.
