A Pre-Task Meeting is an essential planning tool that identifies potential hazards and creates solutions that eliminate, control, and minimize potential dangers. The overall purpose of the Pre-Task Meeting is to ensure that employees involved in high-risk activities perform their work without injury.
The Pre-Task Meeting is required under the New York City Construction code. Workers are encouraged to participate in the meeting to establish camaraderie.
A construction site often has many different types of work being completed by various employees or companies within the same worksite. The complex environment of these work activities creates continually changing work conditions. These changing conditions may lead to potential safety issues.
A Pre-Task Safety Meeting gathers your team and allows two-way communication for topics pertaining to the job and potential safety concerns.
After completing the lessons and passing the 7-question final exam with a score of at least 75%, you'll receive a certificate of completion. You get three attempts to pass the final exam.
This is an awareness-level orientation ONLY. Your employer's responsibility is to train you to recognize and avoid job site-specific hazards that can cause occupational injury and illness.
This course is a specialized elective course that can help fulfill the requirement for an individual applying for a Site Safety Training Card. This course does not provide any other qualification or authorization outside the Site Safety Training Card.
