October – NFPAs fire prevention week is coming at the beginning of November. Be sure to check their site for helpful tips, resources, and webinars focused around the theme “Every Second Counts. Plan 2 Ways Out!”. Plan ahead and keep your employees safe when the threat of fire comes to the jobsite.
October 25 – On October 25, U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta announced that the National Apprenticeship week will be held mid-November. This third annual event helps to expand apprenticeship across the states and gives young people alternative paths to success outside the traditional 4-year degree.
October 24 – The EPA provided an update to the round-the-clock response to Hurricanes Maria and Irma. The focus remains on the potential threats to human health and the environmental impacts of the disaster. Preliminary assessments have been done in the area at most sites and personnel will continue to be deployed to affected areas as conditions allow.
October 23 – MSHA is currently seeking comment on the Mine Safety and Health Administration regulations to repeal, replace, or modify. Comment is set as a way to increase safety on sites and feasibility of the regulations.
