About this Course
What is Identifying Hazardous Wastes Training?
The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) provides a framework for managing hazardous waste from "cradle to grave." Identifying hazardous wastes by RCRA standards is a vital part of managing them properly.
In this course, you'll learn the characteristics of hazardous wastes and the correct identification procedures. We'll also cover RCRA special regulatory provisions, like the mixture rule, derived-from rule, and contain-in policy.
You'll learn about waste management systems for municipal solid waste and industrial waste, as well as used oil management standards. We'll cover the Universal Waste Rule and its regulations for handling, labeling and marking universal waste batteries, pesticides, lamps, and mercury-containing equipment.
This course also discusses Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) regulations that seek to characterize and evaluate risks posed by a chemical before it's introduced into commerce.
Who should take Identifying Hazardous Wastes?
This course is important for all environmental professionals, especially those involved in programs under RCRA jurisdiction.
