Your Certificate of Completion will be valid for 30 days. Print this and keep it with you at work.
You should receive your official Utah Food Handler Permit in the mail at the address your provided within the next 30 days. Your Food Handler Permit will be valid for 3 years.
To print your Certificate of Completion please go to the "My Courses" section of your profile, and from the "Show" drop-down list select "Completed Courses". Once selected, please click on the "Print Certificate" icon in blue to print your Certificate of Completion.
Each lesson quiz (4 questions) must be passed with a 75% or higher to proceed to the next lesson.
The final exam (40 questions) must be successfully passed with a 75% or higher to receive the certificate of completion.
What is the Utah Food Handler Permit?
The Utah Food Handler's Permit is a state-required permit that is designed for people who are interested in working in any facility that prepares or serves food. A food handler employee is usually anyone who handles kitchen equipment as well as makes, serves, sells or gives away food to others besides immediate family members.
How to get Utah Food Handler Permit?
In order to obtain a Utah Food Handler Permit, every food handler should follow these steps:
- Enroll and complete a state-approved in-classroom or on-line training course by an approve food handler training provider.
- Pass the Exam
- Receive a Certificate from Training provider as proof that you passed the exam
- Present Certificate to local health department
- Get your Utah Food Handler Permit
The in-classroom training involves a $25 fee for the permit and training course and is payable through cash, check or credit/debit cards. Picture identification (ID) is necessary along with reserving a spot ahead of time. Call 801-525-5120 to reserve a seat.
