OSHA Idaho Training Requirements

While other states have their own occupational health and safety regulatory programs (also known as “state plans”) Idaho does not. Instead, they fall directly under OSHA jurisdiction.

In Idaho, OSHA does not require workers to complete a 10-hour or 30-hour Outreach training course, but the training is highly recommended. On top of OSHA’s recommendation, many Idaho employers require their employees to complete an Outreach training program.

If you’re an entry-level employee, you’ll want to complete the 10-hour course, but if you’re a supervisor, the 30-hour course is more appropriate.

When employers in Idaho invest in OSHA training programs, they can avoid OSHA inspection penalties, lower workers’ compensation costs, and increase workplace productivity and financial performance.

To get the full picture of the importance of OSHA training for Idaho workers, take a look at the following statistics from OSHA, the Department of Labor, and other Idaho agencies. These workplace injury statistics tell an important story about the role of safety training in preventing fatalities, accidents, and fines.
