Texas 18-Hour CE Package

How fast can I get through the courses? 

TREC requires that you spend at least as much time in your courses as the number of credit hours. 

This means that for your second and subsequent license renewals, you need to spend at least 18 hours actively working through the material. 

Is Continuing Education the Same as SAE? 

No.  Before your first license renewal, TREC requires 90 hours of "SAE" (Sales Apprentice Education).  

The first renewal requires a total of 270 qualifying real estate course hours. If you obtained your license by submitting 180 hours of qualifying courses, you will need an additional 90 hours of elective SAE courses, plus 4 hours each of Legal Update I and Legal Update II courses. Sales agents who have been made a supervisor by their broker must also take the 6-hour Broker Responsibility course to renew

If this is your first salesperson renewal, you need to take an SAE package instead. 

Can I use this package if I'm a broker? 

Yes, but only if you're a broker with no supervisory responsibilities (ie, an associate broker).   

TREC only requires the Broker Responsibility course (included in our broker CE package) for:  

• brokers who sponsor sales agents 
• designated brokers of a business entity 
• delegated supervisors of one or more licensees 
• sales agents made a supervisor by their broker

Any other licensee may choose the Broker package to learn more about managing, operating, and supervising a brokerage. If the Broker Responsibility course isn't required for you, it will count toward your elective hours. 

What else is required to renew my Texas real estate license? 

TREC sends a renewal notice 90 days before your expiration date—after that, you can submit your application.   

All licensees must complete 18 hours of Continuing Education, including 8 hours of TREC Legal Updates.  Supervising brokers must also take a 6-hour Broker Responsibility course.  The remaining hours are electives.  

It's important that your CE documents are submitted AT LEAST 10 days before your renewal application—if TREC doesn't have a record of your CE when you apply for renewal, you'll have to pay a $200 CE Deferral Fee or renew as an inactive license. 

TREC gives you a six-month grace period after your license expires.  After six months, you'll have to go through reinstatement proceedings. After two years, you'll have to reapply for a new license. 

What is the format of these courses? 

Some Texas continuing education courses come in the form of instructional PDFs with quizzes. 

When do my courses expire?  

Your courses will expire one (1) year after you purchase them (the date you submit payment), unless the course itself indicates otherwise.

What if I need a refund for my training course? 

If for some reason you are not happy and would like a refund, send us a request within 72 hours of purchase. Here are the eligibility requirements you must meet: 

• Your purchase was made no more than 72 hours prior to your refund request. 
• You have NOT: 
  • Attempted any portion of a test or exam. 
  • Requested or been issued a certificate of completion. 
  • Completed 50% or more of the purchased course. 

If you meet all of these criteria, submit your refund request in writing via email to support@360training.com with a proof-of-purchase receipt and an explanation for why you are requesting a refund.
