Texas 18-Hour Broker CE Package

How fast can I get through the courses?

By TREC rules, you have to spend at least as long in each course as the course is worth.

That means to meet your continuing education requirements, you need to spend at least 18 hours working through the material.

Is the Broker Package required for all brokers?

For brokers with no supervisory responsibilities (ie, associate brokers), the regular CE package is sufficient. 

The difference between the two packages is that the Broker package contains the Broker Responsibility course.  TREC requires the Broker Responsibility course for:

• brokers who sponsor sales agents
• designated brokers of a business entity
• delegated supervisors of one or more licensees
• sales agents made a supervisor by their broker

Any other licensee may choose the Broker package to learn more about managing, operating, and supervising a brokerage. If the Broker Responsibility course isn't required for you, it will count toward your elective hours.

What else is required to renew my Texas real estate license?

You'll get a renewal notice from TREC about 90 days before your license expires—after you get it, you can submit your renewal application. 

All licensees need to take 18 hours of Continuing Education, including 8 hours of TREC Legal Updates.  Supervising brokers also need a 6-hour Broker Responsibility course.  The remaining hours are electives.

Make sure your CE completion documents are submitted AT LEAST 10 days before your renewal application—if TREC doesn't have your CE on record when they receive your application, you'll either have to pay a $200 CE Deferral Fee or renew as an inactive license.

TREC gives you a six-month grace period after your license expires.  If you miss the grace period, you'll have to go through reinstatement proceedings. After two years, you'll have to apply for a brand new license.

What is the format of these courses?

Some Texas continuing education courses come in the form of instructional PDFs with quizzes.

When do my courses expire? 

Your courses will expire one (1) year after you purchase them (the date you submit payment), unless the course itself indicates otherwise.

What if I need a refund for my training course?

If for some reason you are not happy and would like a refund, send us a request within 72 hours of purchase. Here are the eligibility requirements you must meet:

• Your purchase was made no more than 72 hours prior to your refund request.
• You have NOT:
  • Attempted any portion of a test or exam.
  • Requested or been issued a certificate of completion.
  • Completed 50% or more of the purchased course.

If you meet all of these criteria, submit your refund request in writing via email to support@360training.com with a proof-of-purchase receipt and an explanation for why you are requesting a refund.
