Texas Real Estate Law with Finance II, will teach you the key laws, legal concepts and financial basics that you will need every day. This includes contracts, deeds, fair housing, foreclosures, land titles, records, leases, real property rights and several topics for Finance like qualifying, borrowing, ownership, investment, closing, expenses, Loans, etc.
While being a Real Estate salesperson you are not expected to act as an attorney, it is important for a licensee to develop a thorough understanding of the various laws, statutes and the financial implications that affect real estate transactions.
The Texas Marketing I and II along with Texas Brokerage will explain how to build your Real Estate business and establish your own brokerage. You will learn information on how to successfully operate a business and deliver high-quality service to your clients.
Texas Marketing courses cover topics relating to Marketing practices and negotiation skills, both of which are necessary to build a successful business. Other topics covered include communication, emotional intelligence, negotiations, reading people and Real Estate negotiations.
Texas Property Management course cover topics relating to professional property management, feasibility of property management, marketing plan, management operations, owner relations, market analysis and management of housing, leases, tenant relations, federal, state and local laws, maintenance and construction, commercial property management, risk and environmental issues, safety and security issues for property managers and staff.
Please note, TREC will not accept your certificate of completion for this course unless 3 days have elapsed since the date/time you started the course. Your participation in this course must not exceed 12 hours per day.
Example: If you started the course on March 2 at 11:00AM, then the soonest you could take the final exam would be March 4 at 6:00AM (3 days at 12 hours per day). Please note you are not required to work on the courses 12 hours per day, but this is the maximum amount of time per day.
Starting and completing more than one qualifying course within the same 3 days does not comply with Commission rules. TREC cannot award credit for courses and certificates that are not in compliance.
Please ensure you have met these requirements BEFORE attempting the final exam.

TREC Guideline Update effective September 1, 2017
As of September 1st, new TREC Guidelines require students to take all qualifying exams in the presence of an official proctor. Click here to learn more.
TREC now requires exams to be taken in the presence of a qualified, eligible Proctor to qualify for a certificate of completion.
Please see below for a list of acceptable Proctors:
- An authorized notary
- Employees at official testing or learning/tutoring centers
- Librarians at a school, university, or public library
- College or university administrators, faculty, or academic advisors
- Clergy who are affiliated with a specific temple, synagogue, mosque, or church
- Members of the court system – a Judge, justice of the peace, magistrates, and prosecutors
- Law Enforcement Officers – a sergeant, lieutenant, or captain and
- Educational officers of a military installation or correctional facility.
As set out in Texas Occupations Code §53.025 and TREC Rule 541.1, you may be requested to provide a background check prior to enrolling in Texas real estate courses. If you have any criminal offenses, unpaid judgments, had discipline taken against a professional or occupational license, or have performed unlicensed activity, TREC requires you to consider submitting a completed Moral Character Determination Form before applying for a license.Close
