(Austin, TX) – 360training.com has received approval from the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control and will now offer seller/server training to professionals selling or serving alcohol to the public, along with small to larger food chains.
It is highly recommended for alcohol service employees, including wait staff, bartenders, clerks, cashiers, and “front line” employees, to retake their seller/server course every two years to maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing alcohol laws. Additionally, in the event of a violation, any retail provider who can demonstrate their employees were offered Virginia seller/server training prior to the offence may be offered a reduction in the length of any suspension, or in the amount of any civil penalty (COV §4.1-227).
Learn2Serve’s Virginia Seller/Server Training course describes alcohol use and teaches learners to recognize the effects of alcohol, their role in the enhancement of public safety, and their responsibilities and obligations as a seller under the law. In addition, at the conclusion of the course, learners will be able to:
- Define blood alcohol concentration and how it is calculated.
- Describe the effects of mixing alcohol with other drugs.
- Recognize intoxicated individuals.
- Refuse a sale to someone with little conflict.
- Prevent disturbances in the establishment and handle difficult situations.
- Check IDs accurately, and recognize clues when an individual is using a fake ID.
- Recognize second-party sales
