About this Package

Before you apply for your real estate license in Alabama, you have to complete 60 hours of pre-license education. Our online pre-licensing packages are approved by the Alabama Real Estate Commission (AREC).

This Basic Package includes all 60 required hours of education, plus a free real estate math course to help you practice for the math portion of the licensing exam. The 60-hour Alabama Pre-license Fundamentals course provides the instruction in basic principles of real estate required of all those seeking a salesperson license in Alabama.

After you've finished your required instructional hours, you’ll schedule a proctored final exam. AREC requires your pre-licensing final to be proctored – in other words, supervised to make sure you're not cheating.

You need a grade of 70% or higher to pass the course.  Once we receive your passing grade and paperwork, you'll be able to print or save a certificate of completion for your records. We'll also report your credits to AREC within 3 days.

From the date of your pre-license course completion, you'll have 6 months to pass your state licensing exam.

Note: Our Premium Package comes with an Exam Prep course (and a money-back guarantee), so you might want to select that package to help you get ready. If you go with the Basic Package, you'll have to buy the exam prep course separately later, and the Premium Package will save you a little money.

FAQs

How do I know you're an AREC-approved course provider?

You can look us up on AREC's website. Our Provider ID is 000097091-0.

What happens if I fail my course final?

You need a 70% or higher to pass the exam. If you fail, you'll have 2 more chances to schedule with a proctor and repeat the exam.

How fast can I get through the pre-licensing course?

By AREC's rules, you can't receive credit for completing more than 6 hours in a salesperson pre-license course per day. That means your first attempt at the live, proctored final exam can be no sooner than 11 days after starting the course.

Who is eligible to apply for an Alabama real estate license?

To be eligible for a real estate license in Alabama, you must:

  • be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien, or lawfully admitted alien
  • have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • be 19 years of age or older
  • have no felony or crimes of moral turpitude convictions on your record
  • not have been rejected or had your license revoked by any real estate licensing board in the last 2 years

If you have eligibility concerns, you should apply for a Determination of License Eligibility with AREC before you do anything else.

How do I apply after I pass my state licensing exam?

First, you need to find an active Alabama broker to sponsor your license application. Don't leave this for the last minute, because your application is due 90 days after the test and it's a big decision. In fact, we recommend you start researching brokers before you take the state licensing exam.

You should submit your license application early in case you hit some speed bumps. After you submit your application, you'll need to get fingerprinted by AREC's approved background check processor. AREC suggests you wait to take this step until the day you turn in your application because they only have a short window of time to access your background check results.

When your application is approved, AREC issue a temporary license.  You have to complete a post-license course to earn your permanent license. In the meantime, you'll be able to work.

When do my courses expire?

Your courses will expire one (1) year after you purchase them (the date you submit payment), unless the course itself indicates otherwise.

For more information about course expiration dates, please read our Terms of Use

What if I need a refund for my training course?

If for some reason you are not happy and would like a refund, send us a request within 72 hours of purchase. Here are the eligibility requirements you must meet:

  • Your purchase was made no more than 72 hours prior to your refund request.
  • You have NOT:
    • Attempted any portion of a test or exam.
    • Requested or been issued a certificate of completion.
    • Completed 50% or more of the purchased course.

If you meet all of these criteria, submit your refund request in writing via email to support@360training.com with a proof-of-purchase receipt and an explanation for why you are requesting a refund.

You can find more information about our refund policy here.
